series in which students learn and practise the words and phrases they
need to know at Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Each level of
Oxford Word Skills enables students to:See how the words are used in
spoken and written English, Practise using the vocabulary, Revise what
they have learned, Study at home or in class, Learn the words as
preparation for major exams, Use the 'test yourself' card to check which
words and phrases they know, and which ones need more practice. This
book contains 80 Units at Basic level. CD-ROM helps students: Learn how
to say the words, Practise listening to the words and using them,
Consolidate what they have learnt in the Students Book with linked
interactive exercises.

2. Running the application
For Windows®
Ensure that Windows® 2000, XP or Vista is running with no other applications open.
Insert the Oxford Word Skills CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
The application should start automatically.
If it does not start automatically, then do the following:
- Double-click on My Computer.
- Double-click on the Oxford Word Skills CD-ROM icon.
- Double-click on the start_here.exe icon.
For Mac®
Ensure that MacOS 10.2 or later is running with no other applications open.
Insert the Oxford Word Skills CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
Double-click the Oxford Word Skills CD-ROM icon that will appear on the desk top.
Double-click on the start_here icon
The application should now start.
